Summary/Abstract: The study examines the characteristics of coreference appearing in the oral life stories of Hungarian women in Vojvodina within the framework of cognitive text linguistics. After a brief overview of the notion of coreference, it explores the characteristics and types of coreferential elements appearing in life stories, focusing the analysis on coreference expressed with schematic and morphological elements. Since life stories represent a type of personal narration, where the texts are produced by a first-person narrator, particular emphasis is placed on studying the features of first- person coreference, connecting it to the concepts of topic and focus. The study also addresses the relationship between coreferential elements and perspective.
