Summary/Abstract: Introduction: Cardiovascular diseases are currently the leading causes of death worldwide. Objective: To determine the level of anxiety in patients with an implanted ICD, to determine the effect of anxiety related to the quality of life after the ICD implantation and the quality of life after the ICD implantation. Methodology: As part of the research, the Zung anxiety scale was used, which is aimed at assessing anxiety, the QLEuro 98 questionnaire proved the quality of life of the respondents. Results: 209 (100%) correctly completed questionnaires were evaluated for statistical processing. Conclusion: We used the Zung anxiety scale to assess anxiety, we did not prove an increased level of anxiety in half of the respondents. We have shown that anxiety levels are related to the quality of life assessment and the Type D personality.
