STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT IN FRENCH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Summary/Abstract: There are linguistic phenomena that are present in several productions, as well as others that appear exclusively in the production of a particular learner. The various linguistic phenomena allowed us to determine the stage of development of a particular learner at a given moment and to distinguish between the different stages of the process of acquiring verb forms in French as a foreign language. Considering didactic discourse as a discourse intended for all forms of instruction and education, aimed at achieving the objectives of the educational process, we believe that the teacher is capable of choosing the appropriate discursive strategies that will guide the learner toward knowledge. Thus, student-centered learning, as a logic for formulating discourse, requires the use of a range of assessment forms that will guide the student toward the development of the skills the teacher wishes to develop, as well as toward the speech acts and semantic manifestations that will make their acquisition possible. Didactic discourse represents an essential component of the educational process and encompasses teaching, learning and assessment. The academic success of students is conditioned, among other things, by the structure of didactic discourse, which must be adapted to the educational objectives, the context and the needs of the students.
