Summary/Abstract: Taşkent, one of the 31 districts of Konya province, is located on the Taseli Plateau in the Central Taurus Mountains, at the southernmost tip of the Central Anatolia Region and Konya province. Although it is within the administrative borders of Konya province, its geographical proximity to the Mediterranean region and the fact that it is a Yoruk-Turkmen settlement are the main factors shaping the musical tradition of the district. Although there are many publications on the music culture of the Teke region, there is no study comparing the folk songs of the Taşkent district with the Teke region. Therefore, it is aimed to compare the folk songs “iyi oyun”, “sallama”, “gelin okşaması” and “gelin kına havası” with 9/16 measure performed in the Taşkent district with the “teke zortlatma” in the Teke region in terms of creation, performance and melodic and rhythmic characteristics and to determine their similarities and differences. For this purpose, qualitative method was adopted in the study and the survey model was used. The folk songs compiled from the provinces of Burdur, Antalya, Denizli, Afyon, Isparta and Muğla, which are called Teke region, and registered in the TRT THM repertoire were scanned and 48 teke zortlatma folk songs were identified. The sample of this study consists of 48 vocal-vocal/instrumental teke zortlatma folk songs and 7 Konya/Taşkent folk songs in 9/16 measure registered in TRT THM repertoire. As a result of the findings, it was determined that the dance music called sallama in 9/16 measure in Taşkent district is similar to teke zortlatma in terms of melodic, rhythmic and dance figures, while the tune called iyi oyun in Taşkent district is similar to teke zortlatma only in terms of melodic and rhythmic structures, but doesn’t show any similarity in terms of dance figures. It has been observed that the iyi oyun, sallama, gelin okşama and kına havası folk songs performed with def by the women of Taşkent district are similar to the folk songs called “dımıdan” in Burdur, “gakgili” and “dattiri” in Isparta in terms of their performance style in the region.
