Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the proposed article is to analyze the émigré work of V. Vynnychenko (the story "Equilibrium" (1912) and "Golden Placers" (1927). As well as the novel by L.-F. Selin "From Castle to Castle" (1959). The novelty of the article lies in the fact that, despite the obvious philosophical foundations of the worldview of Vynnychenko and Selin, the works of these writers, as well as the worldview guidelines of both modernists, have not yet been the subject of a comparative literary study. Research methods. The following scientific methods were used in the study: historical and literary, comparative, biographical. Conclusions. Written at different times and under different life circumstances, these works demonstrate similar problematic and poetic properties of émigré literature. The works of both writers, despite the tragedy of reality, are characterized by a comic effect: (lexical and stylistic deformations of Selin), farce and parody (Vynnychenko), sarcasm, black humor, hyperbolization (in both authors).
