The Architect, the Nazi and the Author of the first Vision of Wrocław’s Reconstruction. A Biographical Note on Otton Seibel (1901–1968)

Summary/Abstract: The paper outlines the biography of the German architect, Otton Seibel. On the basis of numerous official ocuments, it was possible to recreate his fortunes from his childhood to the death in 1968. The author depicts Seibel’s levels of education, the beginnings of his professional career and his activities in NSDAP and SA, as well as the most extraordinary episode of his work in the Polish onstruction Department and his participation in the trial when he was accused of committing a crime against humanity.
