Summary/Abstract: The time when Saul of Tarsus went with a written delegation from the Sanhedrin to the synagogues of Damascus, to capture and bring the Christians from that city bound to Jerusalem, was not far from the time of the Resurrection of Christ the Saviour. Saul met the Risen Jesus near Damascus, an encounter which fundamentally changed his life and, in a certain sense, even the life of all humanity. The mission of the Apostle to the Gentiles, to which he was first entrusted, transformed his world, as well as the world of those who received the witness of Jesus Christ’s Resurrection. Thus, on the Damascus Road, an astonishing revelation takes place with Saul, enveloped in divine light and hearing the voice of the Saviour: “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me?” In tresurrected this revelation, the Apostle will understand how all of Judaism is fulfilled in Jesus Christ the Crucified and Resurrected, which he will henceforth confess to his people and to the whole world. From this testimony proclaiming Jesus Christ’s Resurrection, the Christian world will be born, alive even after two millennia, and will endure to the end of history.
