Summary/Abstract: The vocal improvisation in jazz and the reception of scat singing, which makes it possible, as well as the historical predetermination for its origin are considered. Examples of the scat improvisation of two of the best-known names in jazz music are analyzed. The components necessary for the definition of scat improvisation are set. The requirements necessary for mastering this type of improvisation are summarized. Conclusions are made about the benefits of studying it.
