Summary/Abstract: The interrogation of a child in criminal proceedings represents a specific forensic method requiring attention to psychological, ethical, and legal aspects. Children are often victims of sensitive crimes, which demands a highly empathetic and professional approach, taking into account their characteristics such as suggestibility, emotional instability, and vivid imagination. Proper preparation of the interviewer, the choice of appropriate tactics and setting – including the use of specialized interview rooms and demonstrative aids – is essential. The interview should be conducted as soon as possible, ideally only once, and in the presence of qualified professionals. The main objective is to obtain a credible testimony without causing further trauma to the child. This text focuses on recommended strategies and practical aspects of conducting child interviews in various roles – as a witness, victim, or offender.
