Summary/Abstract: This article, written in Portuguese, presents a lexical and semantic analysis of proverbs containing the word "cat" (gato/pisică, mâță, mârtan, motan, cotoi) in Portuguese and Romanian. The author compares 98 Portuguese and 72 Romanian proverbs, highlighting lexical variations and semantic differences in how cats are portrayed across the two languages.
