Summary/Abstract: Using historical and ethnographic data, the paper reconstructs the model of cattle breeding based on the archaeozoological study of the osteological collection from Ishkinovka settlement of miners and metallurgists, dated to the late Bronze Age. It was established that the foundation of the life support system was mobile cattle breeding with seasonal rotation of pastures and water sources. Hunting provided additional resources. In places of summer pastures, there is a high concentration of burial grounds, which acts as markers of the monopoly right to exploit limited vital resources. Certain groups of the population engaged in mining and metallurgical production and were probably exempted from animal husbandry. The established system of mobile cattle breeding, integrated with mining and metallurgical production structures, is one of the alternative forms of implementation of the pastoral model of metal production during the Bronze Age in the steppe regions of Northern Eurasia.
