Cooperation of the Missionary Congregation of St. Andrew the Apostle with the Divine Word Missionaries of the Polish Province

Summary/Abstract: The Missionary Congregation of St. Andrew the Apostle (MZSAA) and the Divine Word Missionaries of the Polish Province (SVD) established a fruitful cooperation that began in the 1990s. Thanks to the support of the Divine Word Missionaries, 10 alumni from the young Ukrainian Congregation studied at the missionary seminary in Pieniężno. Above all, it was an exchange of knowledge and experiences. Both communities sought to ensure that their activities benefit both the local communities and the missionaries themselves, who gained valuable knowledge and skills from it. An important support in difficult times for the missionary congregation in Ukraine was granting a novitiate master by the Divine Word Missionaries. Thanks to this cooperation, missionaries from Ukraine were able to complete spiritual and intellectual formation at a high level, which allowed them to carry out more effective missionary work. These initiatives contributed to the renewal of religious life in Ukraine and in other countries where missionaries were sent. In turn, the Divine Word Missionaries gained new collaborators and friends with whom they could jointly fulfil their vocation to preach the Gospel.
