Summary/Abstract: Energy efficiency in Bosnia and Herzegovina is an important factor in the sustainable development of the energy sector and reduction of energy consumption. Bosnia and Herzegovina faces a number of challenges related to energy efficiency. Outdated infrastructure, insufficient awareness of energy efficiency and lack of financial resources are obstacles to achieving progress in this area. Bosnia and Herzegovina has recognized the importance of energy efficiency to support sustainable economic growth and the movement towards EU accession. Renewable energy sources, on the other hand, exoerience an increase in used capacities from year to year, which is expected if we take into account the natural potential of BiH in this area. In the industrial sector, there is potential for improving energy efficiency through the implementation of energy audits and the introduction of modern technologies. However, a small number of companies are aware of the benefits of energy efficiency and the lack of financial resources makes their implementatio difficult.
