Summary/Abstract: Organizations continuously strive to enhance their production areas. This article presents a selected method of deferred valuation – brainstorming, which was used to effectively rationalize a selected area of the production hall, originally used for work-in-progress (WIP) inventory storage. As a result of the actions taken, the restored production area enabled the installation of a new CNC machine, and thus the development of the analyzed production company. The article aims to showcase the findings from research focused on rationalizing the space within an intermediate storage area used for WIP inventory, which supplies CNC machine stations located near this warehouse. The article consists of two parts: the first, a theoretical section, discusses the role of internal logistics and the importance of warehousing within production processes. The second, an empirical section, presents the research findings, detailing the rationalizations introduced to optimize the space within the intermediate storage area.
