Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to characterize the local labour market by describingunemployment in macrosocial terms, as well as to present social policy towards theunemployed, based on selected literature on the subject. Next, an overview of the activationprograms and projects of the unemployed, implemented in 2023 by the District Labour Officein Bielsko-Biała has been demonstrated. The research method used by the author to obtainthe information contained in the article was the method of literature research – a literatureanalysis and criticism.
