Music Performance Anxieties of Fine Arts High School Students

Summary/Abstract: The research aimed to examine the music performance anxiety of fine arts high school students according to some variables. The study group of the research, which was shaped in line with the correlational survey model, was determined by the convenience sampling method and consisted of 50 music department students studying in the spring semester of the 2022-2023 academic year. Data were collected with the “Music Performance Anxiety Scale for Adolescents” (MPASFA). Independent Sample T test and ANOVA were used in the research. According to the results of the research, it was determined that there was a significant difference between the students' music performance anxiety and the gender variable in favor of male students. However; No significant difference was detected between music performance anxiety levels according to the variables of grade level, instrument type, years of playing the instrument, number of performances in front of the public and the number of individuals in the family interested in music.
