Summary/Abstract: This text examines homilies’ system ascribed to Passion and Bright Weeks in Codex Suprasliensis in comparison with the Gospel readings of various Church Slavonic liturgical traditions, i.e. monastic, cathedral and parochial. This juxtaposition pointed out that Codex’ homiletic texts closely follow the system of Gospel readings in Slavonic, as well as in Greek Byzantine, liturgical tradition, with one exception. Assignment of the Gospel fragment from Luke 24:13–27 to Resurrection Sunday, that Codex Suprasliensis features, was not attested in any Church Slavonic or Greek-Byzantine sources. Homily of St John Chrysostom on Luke 24:13–27 as well as content of this fragment without any doubt are closely related to the Resurrection feast. Luke 24:13–27 constitutes the first half of the 5th Gospel of Sunday Matin, the only one out of eleven that starts with the expression “on the same day”, i.e., on the Resurrection Sunday. An ancient Jerusalem liturgical tradition, known for its plasticity and great degree of variation in Holy Writ readings, has attested to the reading of six various Gospels of Sunday Matins as pericopes for the Feast of the Resurrection. Merely one Georgian manuscript, copied probably at St Sabas Lavra near Jerusalem, proved reading of the 5th Gospel of Sunday Matin on this day. The outcomes of the present research proved that Codex Suprasliensis bears some traces of ancient liturgical tradition related to Jerusalem.
