Summary/Abstract: One of the basic human needs is the need for security. It includes not only protection from all forms of threats, but also the availability of livelihoods to all subjects in society. Threats to society become independent of our will and determine the need to protect society, but at the same time they affect the manner, content and forms of society's preparation for a stable state of security. With the increase in the scope, diversity and destructiveness of security phenomena, challenges, risks and threats, the context of security has also been constantly changing. Such a situation is, in addition to numerous factors, the consequence of insufficient knowledge of the phenomena that threaten the value references of man, the state, the international community, but also of the mechanisms for their protection. Given that the knowledge of problems is a necessary condition for their solution, there has been a development of security sciences within which existing knowledge is systematized and new knowledge is found on the prevention and elimination of the consequences of crime. A very dangerous social behavior, the roots of which reach back to the earliest history, is crime. It is constantly increasing both in economically developed countries and in those countries that are on the path of economic and cultural development. Various negative influences create a favorable environment for the development of crime and corruption in the areas of economic and non-economic activity. The strategy for combating crime must start from the fact that the social reaction to criminal behavior is not reflected only in penal policy, but that it is a combination of penal policy and the policy of preventing and suppressing crime. In the process of preventing and eliminating the consequences of criminal acts, all elements of society have their role, but the mechanisms of their cooperation and models of implementing the prevention process are the key in the chain of long-term measures and attempts to eliminate the consequences of crime. The most important resource of every organization and thus the security system are human resources, who invest their work, talent, creativity and enthusiasm in achieving the success of the organization. Therefore, managing them is an activity that should enable the right people to be in the right positions. This is necessary not only for the normal functioning of the system, but, above all, for ensuring its prosperity.
