Summary/Abstract: This study aims to analyse group characteristics and investigate factors influencing academic performance and engagement in a group of students enrolled in the Pedagogy of Primary and Preschool Education, Blended Learning (PPPEbl) bachelor’s degree program at the University of Oradea. Using a mixed-methods approach, mostly quantitative data were collected via a structured questionnaire from 57 students, in the end of the 2023–2024 academic year. This initial group of participants was formed from 98% females with a median age of 33 years, 77% employed and 59% parents. The study proposes to describe group profile and to analyse academic performance in relation to diverse factors: socio- demographic, economic, educational background related, academic engagement, difficulties, abilities and performance, psychological well-being, self-efficacy, life satisfaction, neuropsychological factors (Attention-Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder [ADHD] and dyslexia) and social support. The current article presents methodological aspects of the study, while the group profile and factors analysis results will be subsequently presented in papers organized by main relevant themes. Despite its reliance on self-reported data (although with some checks) and modest sample size in this initial cohort, the study advances towards future clarifications of group profile and complex interplay of psychological, social, and academic factors affecting the Romanian students in blended learning bachelor’s degree program at PPPE.
