Summary/Abstract: How we find solutions to reduce global climate change is a matter of general interest. The European Green Deal has adopted a Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) at EU borders, to prevent carbon leakage and to protect European industry from unfair competition. The mechanism is designed to ensure that domestic producers do not have an advantage over domestic products that are imported and manufactured with high carbon emissions. This mechanism not only helps to reduce pollution, but also helps all countries outside the EU to adopt more ambitious climate protection measures.
