Summary/Abstract: The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), adopted by the United Nations 2030 Agenda, provide a comprehensive global framework for promoting balanced economic, social and environmental development. However, their interdependent nature creates significant challenges in measuring progress consistently, as progress in one area can have contradictory effects in others. This article analyses the SDGs as a network system, in which the goals function as interconnected nodes through relationships of synergy and trade-off. Drawing on the literature and a systemic interpretation, the main interdependence structures are highlighted and the methodological challenges of aggregating indicators into a single assessment framework are discussed. The results show that the SDG system cannot be assessed through linear indicators, but requires network approaches and multidimensional aggregation.
