Summary/Abstract: Personal names or anthroponyms are the subject of study in anthroponomastics. This paper examines how they are employed in the German plagiarism discourse, focusing on the names Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg and Annette Schavan. It explores the collocations and modifications of these names, which have a characterizing and evaluative usage. The paper investigates whether these names are endowed with an additional component of meaning and how this is linguistically realized. A comparison of the usage of the two names is made to illustrate how, for what reasons, and for what purpose their variations are applied in press articles.
