Challenges in Managing Multicultural Project TeamsAbstract

Summary/Abstract: The presented article discusses the significance of multiculturalism in project management, particu-larly in the context of working in an international environment. Contemporary projects often requirecross-cultural collaboration, which poses new challenges for managers, such as differing communi-cation styles, motivational approaches, and conflict resolution strategies within teams from diversecultural backgrounds. The authors emphasize that traditional management methods are not alwayseffective in such an environment. This article provides a synthetic review of models for measuring cul-tural differences, such as those proposed by Hofstede, GLOBE, and Erin Meyer, which can help man-agers in effectively overseeing multicultural teams. Based on the review, the authors have formulatedrecommendations for managers of multicultural projects.
