Summary/Abstract: Research motives for smart cities include improving the quality of life of citizens, sustainability, more efficient use of resources, increasing safety, innovations in urban planning and management, and the potential for economic development and competitiveness of cities. In addition, smart cities can provide solutions to challenges such as traffic congestion, environmental pollution, energy efficiency and waste management. Much has been done for smart cities to improve infrastructure, implement Internet of Things (IT) technologies, develop applications for citizens, establish smart networks for energy and water management, implement smart traffic systems, install environmental monitoring sensors, promote innovations in urban planning and management and educated citizens about the advantages of smart solutions. Also, cities have collaborated with the private sector and research institutions to develop integrated smart systems that make life easier in urban areas. These are several key approaches: planning and strategy, infrastructure and technology, partnership, pilot projects, citizen involvement, dana management… All these steps contribute to the creation of smart cities in the world that are sustainable, efficient and pleasant for citizens to live in.
