Summary/Abstract: Linear programming is a branch of mathematics that deals with system optimization problems within given constraints. The values of the variables are determined to give the optimal value of the objective function (minimum or maximum). In this optimization mode, both the objective function and the constraints have a linear form. Application of this method has shown good results in a wide range of related problems. Energy saving of sensor nodes is one of the basic goals that are set before designers of wireless sensor networks. Short-range technologies implemented on networks that cover smaller areas of the field have additional specificities that require special attention. This paper examines the influence of different criteria on problem analysis as well as the application of several methods characteristic for optimization through linear programming. The author will pay special attention to the possibilities of applying the obtained results in WBAN networks as a typical representative of WSNs implemented in the field of relatively small dimensions.
