Summary/Abstract: Urban Seals in the Seven Transylvanian Districts in the Middle Ages. The right to have and use seals mirror the level of urbanization and freedom of a community. On the basis of different sources we know the seals of Cluj, Dej, Aiud, Cojocna, Ocna Sibiului, Sic and Bălcaciu. Of course, there were many more urban settlements which were granted the right to use seals, such as Haţeg, Turda, Hunedoara and Abrud.
