Summary/Abstract: Through the theme of the work, significant characteristics of arable land, its role and importance when it comes to plant production yields are highlighted. In one part of the paper, soil mapping in BiH is presented through two main types: zonal and azonal. The influence of pesticides on the soil and the fruits of crop production, whose active substances are absorbed by the plant together with mineral and organic substances through xylem and phloem, and the occurrence of pesticides in underground water were analyzed. In the soil, as a result of the life activities of these organisms, various processes take place that directly affect the chemical and physical properties of the soil, and therefore the growth and development of plants. At the end of the paper, the importance of arable land, nutrients, the influence of used active substances, and the remediation of the contaminated part of the land was emphasized.
