Summary/Abstract: This study is a tribute to the late professor Milenko A. Perović. The author highlights Perović's Marxist orientation through an analysis of the content of Perović's first book, The Consciousness of the Petty Bourgeois: The Value System and Moral Consciousness of the Petty Bourgeoisie. This book represents Professor Perović's doctoral dissertation, conducted under the mentorship of Milan Kangrga. The author examines the method by which Perović analyzes the phenomenon of the petty bourgeoisie and the structure of his study to point out the various theoretical influences that are synthesized into an original standpoint in Perović's philosophy.
