Summary/Abstract: Based on field research, we present an image of the activity, in the last century, of a gardener-merchant of Bulgarian origin – Iorgu Stoianov (1908-1993) – (his father was from Târnovo, Bulgaria) from a village (Drăguşeni) in the northern part of Galaţi county, highlighted by numerous unique details for a region unexplored from this perspective. This combination of production activity with vegetable trade is now missing from this village. The article presents aspects related to gardening plots and their irrigation methods, the vegetables cultivated, the vegetable trade, and other identified aspects. The material also includes maps and photographs.
