ROLE AND IMPORTANCE OF PHOTOGRAPHS IN CROSSMEDIA

Summary/Abstract: Photography has been used in the press since its invention. This article discusses photography as an art form, its perception by the public, and its significance in the media. It explores the types of photos printed in early newspapers compared to those used in cross-media today. A key question addressed is whether news photography primarily documents events or merely illustrates the accompanying text. Attention is also given to the birth of photojournalism, its power, its current uses, and its future.
