Summary/Abstract: Over the past years, Romanian teachers have witnessed the increasing immergence of multicultural classes due to a different immigration policy and to an increase of foreign students who choose to study in Romania and who start with learning the language as to later pursue their education. These students enrolled in the UPB Preparatory Year of Romanian Language for Foreigners come from different cultural backgrounds, have a different language, economic status and religion. Multicultural classes are designed to prepare them to study in a democratic environment and to consider their accomplishments as individuals. Institutions must adapt their teaching methods and materials, teaching and learning styles, attitudes of teachers and cultural perceptions.
