Summary/Abstract: Culture; It is the element that makes a nation different from other societies with its customs, traditions, beliefs and behaviors. Narrative genres, which are important carrier elements of Turkish culture, have met the needs of societies from past to present. These genres, which have been used in education and training over time, have been seen as an important tool in ensuring cultural transfer in children. Folk tale is just one of the genres that express this cultural transfer through the language of the society. This study aims to determine the effects of the conflicts experienced by the heroes in folk tales and the ways they resolve these conflicts on the plot and heroes. The study is limited to a total of four folk tales, one selected from each of the headings in Ali Berat Alptekin's classification regarding the source of folk tales. These are: Kerem and Aslı, Âşık Garip, Yusuf and Züleyha and Lâtif Şah. In the selected folk tales, Cüceloğlu's conflict classification and Johnson's concept of conflict resolution styles were discussed theoretically within the framework of psychoanalysis. Additionally, document analysis was used in the study. It has been concluded that the conflicts experienced by the heroes and the way they resolve these conflicts affect the flow of the plot. It is thought that such studies on other narrative types will contribute to the field.
