Summary/Abstract: Beliefs are practices formed from the traditions and customs of a society. These beliefs are used in curing diseases, making it rain, going on a journey for work, etc. seen in various areas. Human beings are inherently intertwined with land and nature. Rain prayers have been arranged for abundance and abundance. Rain ceremonies in the Aksaray/Yenikent region are an example of this situation. In these ceremonies, some animals took their place in the practices with their various characteristics. Frog is one of these animals. The frog has been used in folk medicine. It is also possible to encounter frogs in many ceremonies related to fire and water. In this regard, frogs, which are believed to be representatives of fire and the moon, are believed to carry a sacred spirit. It is also seen as a "yada stone" in rainmaking ceremonies. The equestrian-nomadic lifestyle of the Turks paved the way for animals to become an effective element in their economic and social lives. For this reason, animal cult has gained a large place in Turkish society and continues its effects today. The frog has not been included enough in animal cults. In this study, frog; It has been examined in the context of mythological origin with a cult-centered perspective in terms of subjects such as rain prayers, healing of diseases, the holy spirit it carries, "yada stone", its relationship with the moon, sun and fire. The "sandstone" unearthed in the study specifically in the Aksaray/Yenikent region revealed the connection between the frog and the "yada stone". In general, frogs were seen as an element of fertility in rain and took their place in rainmaking ceremonies.
