Summary/Abstract: Interests in human health and mental well-being continue to be the focus of attention of researchers worldwide. This report presents the results of a study of the burnout syndrome among employees whose work and activities are directly related to shipping management in the ports of Bulgaria. Occupations that are constantly exposed to a wide range of stress factors that adversely affect health. Those working in this field should be aware of these factors and try to control them in order to avoid professional dissatisfaction. Officers whose work is directly related to all vessels and the protection of human life at sea is similar to that of all health officers and medics. The responsibility and stress of entering and exiting any ship or yacht, rescue operations related to the preservation of human life are equal to those of all those professions in which people fight daily for human health. The sustainability, mental health and satisfaction of everyone working in shipping and the changing working environment are both the personal responsibility of each employee and should be the focus of line managers in the transport sector.
