Summary/Abstract: Improper hydration status may negatively affect thermoregulation processes, physical perfor- mance, and cognitive functions in humans. Dehydration may also affect the mucosal immune system, but research in this area is very limited and divergent. Some studies have shown that dehydration impaired mucosal immunity by reducing the concentration or secretion rate of immune markers in saliva.
