Summary/Abstract: The article presented here is a biographical sketch of a Polish landowner settled in Lithuania between 1914 and 1945 – Władysław Bichniewicz, a great-grandson of Fryderyk Chopin’s eldest sister, Ludwika Jędrzejewicz. Bichniewicz first administered and later became the owner of a landed estate in Poniemuniek (Lith. Panemunėlis). Due to the occupation of the Lithuanian state by the Red Army, he had to leave his estate.
