Summary/Abstract: In the last several decades, many theorists have contributed research to the issues of coping with crisis and conversion, but have failed to find a common denominator for the two. Both coping and conversion are independent concepts and should not be confused. At the same time they are related phenomena. In this article, the author primarily underscore that structurally both coping and conversion are process of change, where a system of meaning is perceived as no longer the most adequate frame of reference for the life of individual. The aim of this article is to evaluate theoretical approaches to coping with crises and conversion and to emphasize necessity of interdisciplinary approaches.
