Summary/Abstract: Essentially, this paper reiterates the constitutional obligation to ensure that there is ample access to adequate housing in South Africa. The paper contends that in order to provide and deliver this constitutional right to the poor and the needy in South Africa, government has established various institutions to accomplish this objective. However, the paper notes that despite this, officials responsible to perform and deliver have dismally failed to ensure unhindered delivery. It is against the backdrop of these persistent failures that the enforcement mechanisms of the Constitution and legislation compelling performance and delivery is being usually invoked by the victims. The paper accentuates broad accountability enforcement culminating unto access and delivery.
