Summary/Abstract: The present text is in line with the tribute year of our Romanian Orthodox Church “of the pastorate of the elderly”, but in an architecture of the encounter with the young generation, or, above all, starting from it. We choose this approach also taking into account our own position along the age generations, but also because we believe that, in this way, we give due respect to the elderly generation, as a repository of wisdom along a continuity of experience and faith. The title itself leads us towards this vision and indicates the protagonist in relation to the elderly generation - “young, on old paths”. The central part of this text will be dedicated to a neopatristic synthesis in matters of spiritual life, in seven major themes, within the paradigm of the young seeking experience from the wise old man, the “old paths”. The need for retrospectives, carried out especially as continuity, was exploited and expressed through this careful look at seven contemporary spiritual personalities, each with its specifics or the dominant note of its unique personality, attempting an up-to-date synthesis, a proposed lesson in seven steps on the model of the new “manuals” of personal development.
