Summary/Abstract: The Fourth Industrial Revolution brings many challenges and technological changes to the way companies operate, with implications for the final product, the processes implemented and the environment (social and cultural). The challenges of Industry 4.0 are related to advanced digitalisation, integration of production and logistics processes (smart factories). Companies implementing these changes are often faced with overlapping crises (economic and geopolitical). The focus on advanced technologies and the progressive computerisation of production affect the development of workers' skills, both hard (skills, knowledge, qualifications, etc.) and soft, e.g. motivation, planning, creativity. In Industry 4.0, not only qualifications and knowledge are important, but also self-management skills such as planning, time management, stress resistance, creativity and emotional intelligence. Finding employees with certain qualities is currently very difficult, especially for Industry 4.0 companies. Competent employees who possess many of the soft skills needed to work effectively and efficiently represent a great potential for a company on its way to competitiveness and economic success. The article presents an analysis of the social competences of employees in terms of Industry 4.0.
