Summary/Abstract: This article presents the results of research into the religiosity of churchgoers of the Serbian Orthodox Church with a special focus on the connection between active participation in liturgical life and attitudes towards elements of traditional culture and customs of the individual’s life cycle. The aim of the article was to show, through the analysis of narratives and attitudes of church believers about folk beliefs and customs, the influence that the acceptance of Orthodox teaching has on the reduction, transformation and disappearance of certain customs. Ethnographic research was conducted within the project “Ecclesiastical and Religious Practices of Christian Orthodox Believers in Serbia: Anthropological Research” (2021–2023).
