Summary/Abstract: Romanian fascism was born within the walls of the University of Iasi, its promoter being Professor A. C. Cuza, who trained Corneliu Zelea Codreanu, who was to become the leader of the Romanian extreme right. In addition to his essay on fascism published in 1927, Petre Andrei took a stand against this political movement that had also emerged in Romanian academia. Petre Andrei was always at odds with the fascists, "cuziists" or "legionaries". In what follows, I will present four moments of this tense relationship: the fascists' attempt to block the young university student's professional career, the dispute surrounding the murder of Zelea Codreanu, the conflict between the cuziist students and the medical professor Vasile Rășcanu, and the expulsion of the sociologist from teaching with the establishment of the legionary state.
