Nowadays creativity represents the largest potential for business which is in the high competitive environment dependent directly on the extent and pace of innovation. Innovations according to the support of the EU and the government of the Czech Republic represent one of the biggest potential of small and medium-sized companies. For the purpose of this paper creativity is understood as the ability to solve tasks and activities that cannot be solved or performed according to pre-defined procedure. The data were obtained through a questionnaire survey of 221 managers and 376 students of universities. The particular data were compared through the double-selection Wilcoxon test, in which it was proven at the chosen significance level α = 0.05 that managers achieve a higher level of creativity than students.
