Summary/Abstract: In recent years, unemployment has been a largely-discussed problem across all sectors. For this reason it is important to find out the causes of this state in which it is now. The aim of this paper was to prove or disprove statistically a direct dependence of the development of unemployment rate on the trend of the number of inhabitants at productive age group in the district of České Budějovice in the observed period.
