Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the level and different forms of cooperation of the Czech Republic and selected South Bohemian organizations with the Russian Federation. Nearly 100 South Bohemian organizations from different fields were approached, of which 21 filled in detailed questionnaires. The questionnaires were evaluated by a method of quantitative and qualitative research for collecting and interpreting primary information and data. It was discovered that most of the contacted organizations have enjoyed pleasant experience with their Russian partners and are planning on extending their activities within the Russian Federation in spite of substantially worsened conditions on the Russian market. As a matter of fact, IMG Bohemia, Fruko-Schulz and Budějovický Budvar, etc. rank among the most active organizations. The South Bohemian organizations cooperate mostly with partners from the European (western) part of Russia (with the exception of the Sverdlovskaya oblast closely to the Urals) under the leadership of Moscow and Yekaterinburg, and often with the other countries of the former Soviet Union as well. The South Bohemian Region lacks a specialized institution, e.g. South Bohemian cluster, to encourage the cooperation with the Eastern European regions.
