The ways and methods for the formation of new lexical units are considered, as well as the specific of borrowing and rethinking of neologisms. Particular attention is paid to reflection and interpretation of reality, including the most relevant phenomena and processes for Western countries, by new lexis and phraseology countries. A comparative analysis of neolexemes and neophrasemes in English and Russian texts in the semantic and derivational aspects is carried out.
