Summary/Abstract: This article is an analysis of the personal designations in the German plagiarism discourse on the Schavan and Guttenberg affairs in the press releases in the period from 2011 to 2013. The personal designations used define and specify the plagiarists and reflect the different attitudes and reactions in connection with the plagiarism scandals. The analysis shows how the two main actors were evaluated and what function and meaning the terms used in the discourse have for them and other plagiarists. The structures analyzed are simple nouns, derivatives, compounds and multi-word terms, with which evaluations are expressed in a compressed, pointed and therefore highly expressive form.
