Summary/Abstract: In the article, the author touched on the subject of introducing City-HCT/HCV vehicles in cities, mainly the larger ones. These are solo vehicles or combinations with an increased gross vehicle weight. This issue is presented as a new one, although multi-axle mega multi-ton trucks have been successfully operated in the Netherlands for years. Currently, intensive work aimed at implementing this solution is being carried out in Sweden. The main goal of this implementation is to reduce truck traffic in cities, which is to result in less congestion on the roads and lower noise, fuel consumption and emissions of harmful substances. In this article, the author analyzes whether the introduction of this concept makes sense and presents his own view in that field. The article, due to the lack of the Polish research in this area, was written mainly on the basis of available foreign literature, mainly the Swedish one, including the results of tests carried out there and numerous theoretical considerations.
