Some selected results of investment and financial acitvities of the insurance sector in Poland under the conditions of the global economic crisis

Summary/Abstract: The developments that accompanied the environment of the Polish insurance market which were caused by strong disturbances in banking sector's functioning, have had an impact on the financial results of insurance companies. Insurers faced the need of making changes to their investment policy. The economic situation in Poland resulting from the global economic crisis, influenced the financial results of the insurers in 2007 and 2008 in a varied way. This article presents the results of the assessment of insurance sector's finan- cial condition in the area of investment and finances under the conditions of global eco- nomic crisis.
