Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the draft insurance intermediation directive. The starting point is the presentation of the history of legal regulation, both EU and Polish ones. Then, the article discusses selected changes presented in the draft of the new directive and their possible impact on the Po- lish law and our insurance market. Adoption of the directive will result in the need to thoroughly amend Polish regulations. The changes will affect numerous aspects connected with insurance intermediation. The publication is devoted, among other things, to the definitions included in the draft directive (including the definition of insurance intermediation), cross-border insurance intermediation ac- tivity, distribution of PRIPs, outsourcing and professional requirements. The particular attention is paid to changes in the scope of the directive (including the direct channel in it, changes in the distribution of travel insurance), and disclosure obligations (introduction of the obligation to in- form about remuneration of insurance intermediaries and about insurers’ operating costs). The publication is based on documents prepared by the European Commission, EIOPA, BIPAR and CEA.
